"
Jingle All The Way" is a fun Chrismas movie from 1996 in which
the Terminator tries to buy a toy for Anakin Skywalker. In the movie, there is a lot of emphasis on the action figure of
Turbo Man, which has been sold out everywhere for weeks (
and Arnold had not pre-ordered one on time!), but they seem to completely ignore the other figures in the line, such as
Booster. A completist collector (
aka someone who wants to own every single item from a set) is now looking for a figure of
Booster,
Turbo Man's sidekick...
"
In the movie, they make fun of Schwarzenegger's character for trying to grab the hot item, Turbo Man, over Booster, which they have plenty of", said the completist. "
They seem to say that Booster is the peg warmer/shelf warmer of the wave, even though we can clearly see shelves full of Dementor behind them in the store! Booster is a fun sidekick with a lot of character depth, a great backstory, and I've ended up preferring Booster over Turbo Man, just like some people prefer Nightwing/Robin to Batman."
"Clearly, Dementor is the peg warmer, not Booster!"
"
Booster was shelf-warming a lot back then, but now he's really hard to find. Some say they buried all the Booster and Dementor figures somewhere in a desert, next to the Atari E.T. cartridges or Funko Pops..."
Sidenote: Do you also have your eyes glued to the background during the toy store scenes in the movie? They have old
Toy Biz (
Ghost Rider, Fantastic Four, X-Men, ...) and
Spawn figures!
Oh, to go back to a toy store in 1996...
