It's
Wednesday, and you know what that means...
ToyFarce review!
This week, we're having a look at the massive
Batman: The Animated Series Man-Bat one sixth scale figure by
Mondo. What a
BEAST! I was blown away by how big the box was, and the figure definitely does justice to
Dr. Langstrom's alter ego. The sculpt and paint are second to none, and it looks like it came right out of the screen.
As mentioned in the intro, the box is
HUGE, with beautiful art on it, as is tradition with
Mondo. They make it really hard for us who usually get rid of the packaging, and I still have all the
Batman: The Animated Series figure boxes that they did...
Please, Mondo, make an ugly box next time! The box has 2 big inserts, one with the figure and extra heads, the other with the gigantic open wings of the SDCC Exclusive version.

The box is the size of my entire kitchen counter...

Man-Bat, aka
Dr. Kirk Langstrom who developed a serum that turns him into a giant bat creature, is a fantastic, massive figure, especially for a
1/6 scale. The paint and sculpt are amazing, huge shout out to
Alex Brewer (
@fanplasticfour) and
Tom Rozejowski (
@zelu1984) and the rest of the team behind this beautiful figure.
Man-Bat (SDCC version) comes with
4 extra head sculpts (
normal, sad, screaming and mid-transformation), a
torn shirt, the
wide open wings and a
Batman symbol stand.

It's a
gorgeous figure, which will have me rethink the way I wanted to display it. The whole time I was thinking about displaying it
with wings wide open (
sing that to Creed's tune... "With wiiiings wide opaaaahn..."), but I gotta say that I love the
crouching pose with bent wings... My only nitpicks are that it is quite "
top heavy", so it's pretty difficult to pose him in a way that won't fall, and the stand included is a bit too long and won't allow for a crouching pose... Since he'll be on top of a Detolf, I have to find a '
secure' pose.
Decisions, decisions... In conclusion, another home-run from
Mondo.

He looks SO SAD :(
The next figure in the
Mondo Batman: The Animated Series 1/6 scale figure line is the
Mask of the Phantasm (
which is already on its way!). Review coming soon...
