Chaos erupted last night in
New York City as one of America's most iconic landmarks, the
Statue of Liberty seemed to have vanished from its post in
Liberty Island. Fortunately, the colossal statue was found later sneaking around in the
Javits Center, home of the
New York Comic Con, ogling the displays and latest toy reveals from brands such as
NECA,
Hasbro,
Mondo,
Mezco ,
Diamond Select Toys or
Jada Toys.
ToyFarce investigated...
Security cameras caught the 151-foot tall statue was seen quietly tiptoeing through the city in the middle of the night, under the cover of darkness: "
I thought I was hallucinating!" said a
Javits Center security guard. "
I looked at the camera feed and there she was, the Statue of Liberty, trying to be all sneaky like she wasn't a giant copper monument. I mean, come on, lady! You're green and made of metal, you're not exactly subtle...".
According to another bewildered security guard,
Lady Liberty spent a couple of hours leaning over the booths, just staring at the new toys. "
Her eyes, or whatever she uses to see, were locked on those figures!" he added.
Representatives from the toy companies were surprisingly calm about the whole situation. "
We get it" said a spokesperson from
NECA. "
Who wouldn't be intrigued by our latest releases? We really packed that display with tons of cool stuff. We just didn't expect the Statue of Liberty to be such a huge fan...litteraly!"
ToyFarce reached out to the
National Park Service for comments. They confirmed that although
Lady Liberty may have a history of
standing still and stoic, but she has been known to be a massive action figure fan. Some witnesses have even seen her browse the internet on a giant tablet she snuck on top of her '
tabula ansata' to check out the latest news on
