JLU Animated Gorilla Grodd Figure By Glassman

by Jay Cochran
January 29, 2006

This week's TNI Cool Custom Of The Week were done by Glassman, who has created a JLU Animated Gorilla Grodd figure. Here is how Glassman describes the creation of it.

"He was sculpted over a cast of Ultrahumanite. I then sculpted the head and made a plastic cast.

Since I knew i would need alot of sculpting medium, I used what i had most of, Self-hardening sculpting clay.
I was also reminded why i had so much, I hate the stuff. I used it a couple times years ago and moved on to sculpey.

The stuff is easy to work with and dries quickly, but it shrinks a bit and cracks...ugh!

I used milliput to cover where the clay cracked off.

The head was sculpted in wax."
