call me crazy but i kinda like the driver, but loath the blue tank, Black is the color for me so the dtc version will stay displayed at my place. If i get one i'll try to sell the tank.
I know I'll be passing on this item. I've been going crazy over the last few years to collect everything vintage, so to get a HISS tank I already have two of, and a driver that isn't even an actual character...pass.
But I totally get it, retool a HISS and repaint a Cobra soldier, and people will buy it. I don't know about the rest of us, but I know there are some younger collectors that'll love it! So buy these up and keep the 25th line goin'!
Yo Joe!
meh... this thing is a mistake.I have no problems owning more hisses, I like them just fine... but I don't see myself buying these.
1. BAD color choice. Isn't this the 25th anniversary line?? Haven't all of the figures looked like their original RAH counterparts? So why isn't this tank BLACK!?!?!?!?! That blue is pretty lame, not to mention that it has already been done. if they needed to do a new color, why not grey or something different? Should have been black.
2. The figure that comes with it. That aint a Hiss driver. I am not a fan of the camo either. It doesn't make sense that a driver is the trooper that gets camo. His job is to sit in a tank, why does he need camo?
3. The UGLY packaging. Again, isn't this the 25th anniversary line? Where is the awesome original artwork on this? why not a box? I hate those plastic window packages. If they needed the window, they should have done a gatefold cover to it that flips up to reveal the tank. No RAH styled packaging, big mistake.
I just don't understand these mistakes. I would really like to be able to discuss these issues with the person who makes these decisions. He is costing his company money, and costing us more vehicle releases in the future if these are not successful.
I am guessing this thing will be 14.99... and I will wait for it to go on clearance before I buy a single one.
Good arguments. But I don't think they even PLANNED for vehicles (which is pretty stupid on their part) so they had to mock something up quick.
If they would of put a real Hiss Driver I would have bought a couple. Maybe Ill keep one Misb. I wish they would stop putting out varients of the Cobra trooper, unless they actually looked Good.
I don't mind it, but I don't see this as a "25th Anniversary" vehicle by any means. I'm hoping that the cockpit and foot pegs are unaltered, because this, along with the other Target vehicles, will be going on the shelves with my RAH stuff.

When is this due out?
I think the driver works as a "leader type" for the Stinger Drivers.
foot pegs.Yeah, it's a small thing. But it cuts down the amount of figures that this thing can carry since they appear to still be sized for the old gen figures. Couple that with the fact that the 25th figs might have a hard time fitting in the driver's seat with the canopy down, and you've got a one seat tank that no one can drive. Sounds pretty dumb to me. And that to the ugly color, the ugly figure, and you've got an equation that comes out to me not trying to buy one.
Is this the same color as the HISS III? If so, maybe these are left overs that Hasbro's recycling to cut even more corners and save more dollars.
That's one thing that bugs me about the figures. The foot holes are in the MIDDLE of the foot instead of the heal.
i'm gonna wait for the price on this one, not really looking forward to it.
I like the old hiss but I would have rather had the DTC hiss with a slight retool of the guns rather then the missle pods. That way our DTCs would have still been different from the 25th. They could have even given us the black hummer with a missle rack, called it a stinger and my stinger driver would have been happy. As it stands I might pass on this one, I own enough classic Hiss tanks and the driver is a bit loopy looking to me.
