I am just going to wait and watch the movie. Besides, I am using the pick and Choose Method. I pick and choose what i want and nothing else. Very simple plan indeed!

ARROW... Military Dictators wear uniforms

Plus a mask can be done In this case it looks as if thought they want people to see the actor

I don't get the movie makers

Why couldn't they has used his blue hood and give him a uniform instead of him wearing what looks like clothes from the 1700's

There's a lot of reasons for it, and a lot of "logic" behind the changes--of course, depending on how you define logic.

Usually the reason is because, for whatever reason, the design recognize does not work as well on screen.

That is usually the hardest explanation to swallow, but it's often found to be true.

The other reason is primarily one of vanity or ego.......change for the sake of change.

There are dictums where the producers or directors call for change simply because they can, and because they want make the thing "theirs". Part of this happens because the director doesn't really respect the material, and part of it happens because the license holder ( in this case, Hasbro) actually says its okay to make the change. The idea is that a new visual interpretation expands the brand.

Just like the Ultimates expand the brand of the Avengers, by being a different take on something that is, well.........pretty much the same thing.

And besides, we are seeing ONE incarnation of the character, one costume.

Its clear now that the heroes have at least a couple of costume changes, so the villains could also stand to have the same. They might go this route, or they might just play the character like this toy design suggests. We'll know in July.

Thats cobra commander? NOOOOOO!!!!!!!

YESSSS!!!!! - This isn't your 80's cobra, this is a new (and improved) cobra commander. i bet this guy's gonna be freaking creepy and awsome! while you joe fan whine and say it sucks i'm gonna sit back and enjoy MY GI Joe movie. #US1#

@hmmm@ geesh!

Are you being paid for this?

nah i'm just being supportive to the GIJOE line....you know i didn't always liked the 3inch joes i was into the 12inch joes alot more but i moved on and bought a few i am at heart a 8inch sigma 6 fan. i like to place them with my mego-repros along side them... sigma6 duke and captain kirk look good together.

So then, in your pursuit to be "supportive to the GIJOE line"....it doesn't matter what the discussion is, if it's in regards to the new MOVIE, you're just going to rave about it and insult and mock those that might not? You don't seem so supportive of our rights to disagree, judge prematurely on it (in the negative) and even WORSE is your obvious hypocrisy over your so-called "support" when it only seems to be for the NEW movie stuff, whereas you don't seem too shy in putting down the OLD stuff?

Your shtick is starting to grate on the nerves here, like some fella called Admiral Snackbar use to do?

eh i can be an ass sometimes i admit. but when you get a lil' tired of the bitching. i mean comon they exspect the same thing of course there will be changes in the film. atleast they're trying to make a good film. but your right i should respect other people's opinions. but the fact is people dont like change. i figure since your a 12inch collector (i assume you are) might've not like the 3inch size joes. but as i said time and time again this film is basicly for kids and a new generation of fans, same with startrek and i tell ya my ex b/f still complains about it worse then the old foggies of the original series. then there is that dragon ball movie. i'm sure its hard to please fans. but then the creator of dragon ball says to think of it as a different dimention of dragonball universe.

so i usually think that GIJOE is a whole different universe. same goes for the transformers movie.

i'm just hoping the film makes alotof money for a sequal and te toyline sucessful for the GIJOE brand to keep on going.

Just everyone keep in mind that so far in the movie, clip, and screen shots, all we've seen is the joes in black uniforms, and destro without a mask. These toys look like alot of them are different variations, possibly not seen in the movie, so everyone upset should just wait, lol but idk I hope he looks better in the movie.

While that would seem to make sense, it's unlikely they'd just introduce a completely new and unseen visual design element without it being motivated by the movie. If it's not from the movie somewhere, where is it coming from?

I would think if we were to dig into it, we'd probably find something, in some past movie toylines, was produced for the toyline that wasn't in the movie?

My expectations for the movie are even lower now, the character formerly known as Cobra Commander.

Have fun. It will give you something else to watch besides "YOUR" Star Wars movie: The Phantom Menace.
