The Hasbro design and marketing teams and representatives from Hasbro Studios -- including Derryl DePriest (Hasbro Marketing), John Warden (Hasbro Design), Aaron Archer (Hasbro Brand IP Development), Jeff Kline (executive producer, G.I. Joe Renegades), and Michael Vogel (Hasbro Studios) -- discuss new initiatives for Hasbro's G.I. Joe brand. Fans won't want to miss details from the showrunner and members of the creative team for the new G.I. Joe Renegades animated television series coming to The Hub network this fall!

Hasbro is introducing "The Hub" which is a joint venture network with discovery.

- G.I.Joe Renegades is going to go back to the beginning where they haven't even met each other, they are recruited by Scarlet who is a spook. They go on a mission to investigate a pharmaceutical company run by a company known as Cobra. Things go wrong and they are blamed for a crime they didn't commit and go on the run. This will be before many of the Joes had code names.

For the art, they felt Resolute would be hard to top, so they wanted to go back to a more classic style from the 50's with lots of shadowing and where there always seems to be something else going on behind the scenes. From the design standpoint they start with character.

Roadblock is back. Cobra will utilize technology that seems a little futuristic than what is used today.

We will learn things like how the Dreadnoks and Zartan get involved with Cobra. They will start with a more realistic approach and move more towards the futuristic stuff.

The original voice actors who played Duke and Scarlett will return for the show but not as Duke or Scarlett.

There won't be the violence of Resolute but it won't be dumbed down, think violence like seen in shows like Batman The Animated Series.

This is G.I.Joe Year 1. They want the widest swaft of character they can use so that is why they choose to use more classic 2D animation than they did CGI.

A animated clip was show, we weren't allowed to record it, but I saw others recording it so check YouTube. I'm sure it will be online soon.

They want the stories to be epic, the music to be epic, what happens in one episode will impact future ones.

SGT Slaughter apparently could show up.

They aren't anti-heroes and as they are on the run they will end up stopping along the way to help people. Breaker will be an important character.

The stories will be very character driven, we will see episodes that really focus on individual characters. That is a main way how this series will differ from any other G.I.Joe series before it.

There will be certain core things that will remain true like say Scarlet will have red hair, but G.I.Joe as a whole is a brand and this will just be one more off-shoot of that brand so some things can be different.

A Baroness asks why Baroness is always wearing sunglasses as opposed to regular glasses. Baroness will have regular glasses as well and they will kick butt.

Crimson Guard Twins will show up at some point.

Cobra Commander's evolution will be explored in this series and he will evolve as the show goes along.

There is not likely to be a G.I.Joe Renegades/Transformers Prime crossover anytime soon, but it could happen at some point. If it did happen it would have to be super super awesome. Right now they want both brands to get their own legs underneath them.

Doc or Lifeline will be in the new show.

Toys won't be officially debuted till the New York Toy Fair which is next February.

Roadblock will be reintroduced for this new show and Heavy Duty will appear.

The show will focus on a core group for the team and there will be others that appear throughout the show and then they will likely add more members to the core down the road.

There will be a balance between the realistic and the fantastic in this series. They address both pretty consistently. Even the more futuristic stuff will have an element of realism in it.

It's a 2D show and the art starts out on paper.

Classic episodes of G.I.Joe will also air on The Hub.

Panel ends.
