- There's this movie coming out later this year. Maybe you've heard of it? It's based on a doll or something. Oh, who are we kidding? The fact that G.I. Joe is coming to the big screen is the biggest toy news of the year-but that's just one part of G.I. Joe's big, huge 2009! From new toys to a new comic from the series' creator, we're taking a look at what this year has in store for everyone's favorite Real American Hero. Hasbro's G.I. Joe movie figures are featured on this issue's cover!

o Nowadays it's enough if a toy looks awesome and can strike a variety of poses. But back in the day, a toy wasn't worth its salt unless it shot missiles, changed color or, occasionally, smelled terrible. In their honor, ToyFare counts down the greatest action features ever. Because sometimes a toy's not a toy if it just sits there.

- February's hotly anticipated Friday the 13th remake is but one of a number of recent and upcoming remakes of classic and not-so-classic horror flicks. We take a look at which films left fans terrified...and which ones left them horrified.

- He looked like a toaster, he barely moved and he was the only action figure ever produced by his company before they gave up and went back to board games. But despite it all, Rom Spaceknight is still fondly remembered today, mostly due to a good comic tie-in that well outlasted his toy life. Find out how a flash-in-the-pan toy made a lasting impression on the Marvel Universe!

- Megos! G.I. Joes! Star Wars! Beanie Babies! The Macarena! All of these have been the subjects of "Twisted ToyFare Theatre" over the past 11-ish years. What toys and/or dance phenomena do we have in our sights this issue? Tune in to find out!

Snake-eyes Hasbro, Rise of Cobra 2009 Paramount Pictures. Rom The Space Knight Marvel Entertainment Group. Stinkor Hasbro.

I'll check my comic shop tomorrow... I'm just glad it's a clear picture or people would be screaming "DEATH OF TEH LINE!!!!!"

Considering it looks that good that close up, it'll probably look great in hand, or when you see it in the stores.

I don't know how much movie stuff I'll be picking up but I'll probably get the Baroness at the very least, it would seem!

I like to buy Toyfare as much as the next guy - for some enjoyable reading when I'm on my ummm throne. But what I don't like is the lack of coverage G.I. Joe gets. A few issues ago they had a one-pager on the cartoonist, and the issue with the AVAC on the cover barely had anything about G.I. Jo... Read More
