Frederick Schmidt Cast As 'Metallo' on Supergirl

Superman will be making his appearance on the new season of Supergirl but he won't be coming alone as Superman and Supergirl will be facing off against Metallo. Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Frederick Schmidt has been tapped to play Metallo and will appear in at least two episodes, starting with the season 2 premiere.

The storyline is described as the international assassin John Corben is badly injured after taking on both Supergirl (Melissa Benoist) and Superman (Tyler Hoechlin), he is reborn by a shadow organization into the Kryptonite-powered supervillain Metallo.

The second season of Supergirl premieres Monday, October 10th on The CW.
