What Do You Want To See Happen To The Transformers Comic License?

by Jay Cochran

After the announcement earlier this week about the current state of Dreamwave Productions, who were the current holder of the Transformers comic book license, speculation and rumors have been tossed around as to who will be the next publisher to get the license. An interesting email was sent to the folks at Sibertron.com.

"Devil's Due & DC are the current publishers are speaking to.

DDP would basically pick & choose stuff from DW's run to continue with and release lesser stuff as the brand reaffirms it's success. Much of it actually produced by DreamEngine, but now published by DDP.

DC is the dark horse in this race, no puns intended to the Conan-publisher. They want to do Cybertron as part of their Johnny DC line of kid's comics. As far as G1 goes, they want to tie it into the movie in 2006 and not deal with the previous comics or cartoons AT ALL. They did apparently dangle one juicy carrot in front of Hasbro's nose tho: full-fledged membership in the DC Universe."

Now whether or not there is any truth to this, we cannot say at this time. However we did decide it would be fun to hear who you all thought would be the best choice to get the license and why, so we have launched a new poll on our message boards where you the readers can voice your own opinions. To vote or post your opnion, click here.

You do have to be a registered board member to participate. However as an added bonus, whenever you post on our boards you will automatically be entered into our $100 Montly Forum Give-Away drawing. click here for all the details on the contest.
