Product Backstory

"You shall not pass!"

As a guide and mentor to Frodo Baggins in his quest to destroy the One Ring of Sauron, Gandalf the Grey leads the Fellowship of the Ring on the path to the fires of Mount Doom, a path that takes them into the Mines of Moria. There, far beneath the Misty Mountains in the deepest darkness and coldest gloom, lingers an evil that should long have passed from the memory of even the Elves. Yet it has lived on through countless ages, consumed in the shadows by rage and its own fires -- the Balrog, a demon of the ancient world.

As the Fellowship of the Ring ventures deep within the mines, the furious Balrog is awakened. They hurry to escape the beast of shadow and flame, knowing its darkness and might. Narrowly making their way across a vast chasm and near to the exit from Moria, the Balrog overtakes them at the bridge of Khazad-dum. Only the magic and might of Gandalf the Grey is strong enough to save Frodo and his companions from its fires. Standing firm in the path of danger, the noble wizard fends off the Balrog as the others escape certain death, offering himself as a sacrifice to save the Fellowship of the Ring.
