Todd McFarlane has updated his
Kickstarter for the
The Original SPAWN Action Figure with details about what figure will get what weapons. As of this posting the Kickstarter has currently obtained $1,758,144 with 16 days to go.
There are three different versions of the figure you can choose from or an option to get all three. There is the
"Classic Spawn" which is based on the original 1995 figure. There is the same figure repainted to look like the Mortal Kombat 11 Spawn which is designated "Modern Spawn". Finally there is a black and white
"Artist Proof" version of the classic Spawn.
Since the Kickstarter first started a few weeks ago, Todd has added quit of few additions to the various figure options. So besides the weapons we are going to recap everything each figure is supposed to include for you. Each figure will come in a nice slip-box type package and have a comic book drawn by McFalane himself. There are also options to have a Todd McFarlane autograph plate included to be displayed with the figures.

The

"Modern Spawn" figure and the
Unpainted Necro Sword for the
"Artist Proof" Spawn figure are the latest additions to be added to the Kickstarter.
The
"Classic Spawn" figure will be getting a second weapon, which as of yet has been named. My guess is, that it will be a painted version of the Necro Sword, but we will have to wait and see. If or when McFarlane adds additional items to this project, we will be sure to update you.
Ugh seeing these new pictures of the further development of this figure , yet again... I wish I was getting this, it has Torso articulation in the end...
why self why!?
He's looking pretty good.I kinda regret not backing this. I'm happy with the mortal kombat version, but this would be cool too.
I backed this figure and even though I'm pleased with the outcome I still wished they could have done the torso a little differently.

Can't say 100% because Idon't have the figure in hand, but I am very pleased overall. Very satisfied with the torso articulation. Just hope the final product has sturdy joints. That cumbersome cake will most likely be replaced. Hope it's easy to remove.

Can a toy that hasn't even been released yet BE a toy of the year . . . before the year even starts?

Hope it has almost the same articulation as the first (Mortal K) release, and then you just have to put on the cape (easily). Weird as it may sound, but I like the MK version still... not into humongous capes.
I haven't seen the MK one in person but from what I have seen in photos and video reviews I like the look of it more than this one.
