Yeah, I know, hence the suggested "M.A.S.K's Rhino" etc rather than complaining about it not just being "Rhino". We've seen Hasbro get around this issue plenty in recent years with "Autobot Jazz" or "Clayton 'Hawk' Abernathy". The question is why they *didn't* do that here or even just rename them to something similar (the "Shockwave/Shockblast" situation) and instead go with super generic names rather than something that builds the IP up.

The folks at The Loyal Subjects today are showing off the the packaging for each of their new M.A.S.K. vehicles. All for M.A.S.K. vehicles will be up for pre-order July 1st at BigBadToyStore.com. Mark your calendars!
Some of these MASK effects come off very very goofy, which only makes me love them more. I mean, half of them look like their eyeballs are exploding or they're getting shot in the face. It's fantastic.
Time for another MASK Monday, and this time the Loyal Subjects got a surprise for you!Inspired by the Rare Long Mask Accessories for the original M.A.S.K. line, each M.A.S.K. figure will come with a SECOND Mask! These new updates will each feature exciting Power-Up Effects that showcase the fantastic power of each Mask.
First up, Brad Turner, the brave pilot of the Condor will feature two versions of his signature Mask which he can use to create powerful Illusions to thwart Miles Mayhem! Next is Matt Trakker, pilot of the Thunderhawk, with a new Spectrum Mask - which can unlock a toolkit of awesome and extraordinary powers to make sure the team comes out victorious! The villainous Miles Mayhem comes with his evil Viper Mask, which he can use to fire blasts of corrosive poison at the M.A.S.K. team. Will he rise victorious? Last but not least, the Mobile Defense Unit, piloted by Matt Trakker and Bruce Sato. Each will come with their incredible and powerful Masks: The wise Bruce Sato uses his Lifter Mask to control gravity and levitate, while Matt Trakkers Ultra Flash Mask lets him blind his attackers with a white hot blast of blinding light!M.A.S.K. toys from TLS Toy are coming soon to your favorite retailers! Which Mask is your favorite? Let us know in the comments!

I'm really disappointed in the lack of chrome. I'd rather put my money towards a good condition original to replace my beat up childhood toy in my collection.
Like I said theres talk of a vacmetal version coming for SDCC (or one of them) that is $170. I might be made up but there it is.
Ill take the new version over the brittle one that breaks if you look at it wrong any day of the week. Especially if theyre trying to replicate the original. That plus the quality of life improvements override wanting. 40 year old item.

These were always marketed as reissues with a few improvements to the figures. Theres no vacmetal but I heard there was a $170 comic con set that adds it to the MDU. I dont think thats confirmed.
I never had any of these and I dont want a bunch of ancient brittle plastic or overpriced 3rd party (which is just as fragile), so these will work for me. Theyve already said if wave one doesnt do well then the line will be canceled so if anyone wants these then get them or else its game over.
