I love that Connor Hawke GA! That is a must have. I'll almost certainly buy that Hourman as well assuming that I can find them both.

I will not personally miss McFarlane. I've never gotten over my bitterness of them changing to the 7" scale after I had collected hundreds of DC figures at 6", but I still have a number of figures that McF has done that I truly love, and right now this Connor GA looks like it will be end up being one of those.

I have high hopes for Mattel, but only time will tell. In the meantime I hope that we continue to get some more cool vehicles from McFarlane and maybe some more civilian characters and Legion of Super Heroes.

So glad to see Connor finally getting a modern figure, so hope I can snag him. I doubt we're going to get that deep into the DCU that quickly with whatever Mattel kicks off next year.

It's a shame it took so long for McFarlane to really start branching out the line to be more representative of the broader DC universe rather than the "All Batman, all the time" reputation that the McMultiverse line earned from their early years (fairly or not). Over the past year or so, it feels like they've finally realized that they can do so much more with the license and it's become a lot more interesting, if still hampered by weird release approaches in terms of both consistency and regularity. Other toy industry insiders have said the contents of a line are generally heavily dictated by the license holder, but Todd has always stated he can do whatever he wants, so I wonder if the Bat-focus was mandated by DC or if it was just what he wanted to do and it's only been a recent softening of his views rather than DC trusting them more to choose their own characters?

I love that Connor Hawke. I wish it wasn't gold label. Hopefully it's not too hard to come by

There are hundreds of figures in the line. He has produced a crazy amount of characters. The past 2 to 3 years have given us dozens of characters including many characters that have never been figures before. He understood the collector and listened to his customers. The many changes the line went through based off fan feedback are proof of this. It takes 15-18 months to bring a figure to market, so these amazing figures we've been getting lately were thought up in 2022 or 2023, so by the time the line ends in roughly 15 months, the line is going to be more fleshed out and the folly of this changeover is going to be an even bigger gut punch. Mattel will have to knock whatever collector line they come up with out of the park.

It takes about 6 months to bring a figure to fruition. At least for most companies. Maybe Todd has a longer approval process I guess.

McFarlane hasn't really listened that much to collectors. Some. But not a lot. We will see this again when Supergirl sells out in 5 minutes. And we get 10 more Batman variants before Stephanie Brown Batgirl goes up.

Dang, I need to set up a little shelf for the Morrison JLA. Connor Hawk is a cool addition to that. A Zauriel and Big Barda would be nice additions to that as well.

But I'm still sad to see this era end, as he hasn't produced many characters yet (maybe he won't). Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Todd has appropriated DC characters a bit too much, only willing to do what he likes, and like he hasn't understood the collectors what they really want.

Supergirl with that skirt and belt will be immovable, seriously, couldn't they have done better? Superman's hair really doesn't look the colour it should be. Maybe Todd is like, whatever, it doesn't matter now. Gold, Platinum, Red maybe he's doing these because it's a relatively small company and he wasn't able to produce enough in time. Maybe that's one reason he lost the rights (just a guess).

Its odd that although there are nowsoft goods, they didn't use that for the skirt here. Also the same as with the recent Power Girl, the biceps are way too long' makes the arm like look a pipe

Helen Slater Supergirl is underrated, but the legs are terrible. I am wondering if I can take the legs off this one and use them on the previous version.

I was wondering the same thing.

Steven3 - 2025-03-10 @ 3:02 pm

I'm sad that he lost the rights, despite all his faults, big and small, I loved collecting them and I'm glad I was able to get at least a hundred of them. I don't know what Hasbro's will be like, I'm a bit afraid of them, although the He-man ones are pretty good. But I'm still sad to see this era end, as he hasn't produced many characters yet (maybe he won't). Maybe it's just me, but it seems like Todd has appropriated DC characters a bit too much, only willing to do what he likes, and like he hasn't understood the collectors what they really want.
