Supposedly the entire US stock was stolen. I lost four Supergirls in that theft so I think it was real (particularly since the explanation came from Walmart and not McFarlane).

I believe Walmart is the only place he ever went up for pre-order. Mine got cancelled as well. Walmart offered me a coupon code for like $15 for my trouble, ordered something unrelated with it after a week or so (NECA figs), that got cancelled and now I have no idea if that code is valid for use or not.
