April 25, 2025
We first saw these announced during WonderCon, and now thanks to the overseas retailer Sgt.Pepper’s Hobby Club we have our first in-hand look at several new DC figures from McFarlane Toys.

Shown are the new DC Collector Edition Superman (Strange Lives Of Superman) figure along with the The Amazing Story of Superman Red Silver Platinum edition figure.

We also have a look at the DC Collector Edition Hawkgirl and her Platinum chase, Guy Gardner (Red Platinum), Mr. Terrific (Red Platinum) figures.

Curse my love of goofy silver Age transformations, compelling me to get both Strange Lives Of Superman and the platinum edition. It sucks that they're making Silver Age Superman Red without a Silver Age Superman Blue in sight, but as someone who has their Electric Superman Blue, but not their Electric Superman Red, I think it's funny that I'll have a mismatched set. Luckily I'm easily resisting that Platinum Hawkgirl, since I really don't like when they take a specific design of a figure and just slap the color scheme of a different design onto it, so I'm happy just getting her regular version

Wow, now I really want both Hawkgirls and both Supermen (possibly multiples). Pass on the platinum Guy and Terrific though.

You really like McFarlane.

So? I like a lot of lines. I like Legends, Mafex, Black Series/TVC, and Origins. I also like Long Box Heroes, Dime Novel Legends, just about anything Hiya, Joy Toy Warhammer 40K and any number of smaller companies. I collected 80s lines when they were new. I also happen to love Mcfarlanes various DC lines. Its my favorite DC line of most of the DC lines over the years and Ive owned most of them.

This movie is our best chance to get a Lois Lane. But I'm skeptical he will do her or do her well (thinking of Gal Gadot's figures).

I don't like the chances of getting 'civilians' with McFarlane at the best of times, let alone with the movie tie-in line. And yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing if Mattel will use their WWE Tru-FX tech on actor likenesses when they start their line next year.

Yep, I watched an auction for just the dog. He was bid up to $50.

Here's one for $79 with 32 bids.https://www.ebay.com/itm/326479685640?_skw=McFarlane+Toys+Krypto&itmmeta=01JR5CXARCRHZG2FH9F3BMS5QW&hash=item4c03b4a808:g:cP0AAeSwSPhnzkLN&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA0FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1cEaZHd7%2BqOcE2edMJ5nMRDH5ru9ZczKHObQuheu48%2BiOWz0hstgOG1J6ztkpsPVilDjHz8YdLPZ7o3016PFNAO5BuUczus9tl%2BcfsHfGwdwMDDPW2%2B0kmJaWUpkvXiFDqdvx%2BxhE63bcUFgg%2BgYxvuvtx8D38PCU5hlBbbmu59HQA8LITvmGYqQteO8qpqxxZydfWa0bu%2BWpDtb0gb6LYL6gTMgXAtSSg73xpTdzGqkgzfHG%2F%2BUWHwJQjQnoUyX8k%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR66s9azBZQ

I'm glad Krypto is coming with Superman because I slept of that previous Superman with Krypto pack-in and now that Krypto sells for $50 alone.

Is it really going for that much?!!!

It's bloody 2025 today. Could this guy really only take some 240p photo where barely anything can be made out???

It looks like most of the caped figures are plastic again. I don't know if it's the Tariffs, so that involves cost-cutting, but as nice as some of those figures look, I'm saving money because I'm not going back to plastic capes again. Those wired capes spoiled me.

The Superman pretty clearly has a cloth, wired cape. You can see that it is scrunched in on itself in the packaging like all his cloth capes.

Are you talking about the Superman movie figure or the digital renders? Hard to tell from those pics what the Superman figures have.

McFarlane's wired capes aren't the best wired capes ever but I kind of love them nonetheless. They add a lot more to the display options. If they go back to plastic capes I'll be bummed but I'll live with it.
