Deion Sanders Club Exclusive Causes Problems For McFarlane Toys

If having to get up early and deal with over 5,000 other Collecctors and trying for over 3 hours to get exclusive toys wasn't bad enough. Having over 5,000 Collectors causing serious server problems is even worse. This is something here at Toy News International know something all about!

Yesterday, McFarlane Toys offered their club exclusive Deion Sanders in both his Atlanta Falcons and Baltimore Ravens uniforms and there was such a demand for the figures that it caused major server problems. McFarlane Toys has released the following statement in hopes to deal with the matter.

Dear McFarlane Customers:

We have experienced a significantly higher than expected volume of orders for the new Deion Sanders Club Exclusive which was released May 2, 2005.

Unfortunately, our servers were unable to handle the volume of traffic and we have been forced to close the eCommerce site until this issue is resolved.

For those who successfully placed orders, our greatest concern is to ensure that they are processed correctly, and that no duplicate orders or billing concerns are left unhandled.

We will be taking the following actions by Wednesday May 4, 2005:

1. All orders will be reviewed to ensure they are completed, and processed for payment.
2. If we find any duplicate payments, these will be credited within 48 hours.
3. Shipping of completed orders will begin Wednesday May 4, 2005.
4. Confirmation emails will be made to all customers placing orders on May 2, 2005.

We have heard from many of you today, and we thank you for your support and patience as we move to quickly resolve this issue. Our first priority is always to our customers, and we regret any inconvenience this has caused you.

We will continue to work with our business partners to improve and eliminate these issues in the future, and appreciate your patience during this time. We anticipate the store "reopening" with the "reallocated" figures Wednesday morning.

This message will remain in place until the store is re-opened again for business.

Sincerely,

McFarlane Collector's Club
