U.S. 101st Airborne 327th, 3rd Battalion

bbi adds a new U.S. 101st Airborne Division 327th 3rd battalion Sergeant to its Elite Force Modern Military collection. The WWII version of this figure was so well received by collectors, that we are offering his modern counterpart uniformed in desert camouflage. Careful consideration was given to the detailing on this figure and when we say it's perfect from tip to toe, wellŠlet us show you what we mean. Look at the bottom of his boots. This soldier is in combat, not in a shoe store and the treads on his footwear reveal that he is working in tough terrain. If we have that detail on the boots, you can tell that bbi is serious about details on all of the gear and accessories and on this and every figure we introduce.

US 101st Airborne 327th 3rd Battalion
"Operation Enduring Freedom"

In January of 2002, the 101st Airborne was deployed in support of operations to destroy the Al Qaeda terrorist network operating in Afghanistan.

In March, the 101st conducted an air assault to block Al Qaeda terrorists from fleeing the region. They retaliated with mortars, rocket propelled grenades, and machine guns, but were no match for the massive air strikes coordinated by the 101st. F-16 fighters and Apache helicopters provided close air support and B-52 bombers were used to saturate enemy lines.

The 101st was called upon again in February 2003 when President Bush ordered it to deploy to the Persian Gulf to prepare for war with Iraq.

Since WWII, the "Screaming Eagles" as they are nicknamed, have served in Vietnam, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Panama and Kosovo. The Brigade stands ready to answer its country's call for defense of freedom and protection of the nation's interests.
