Here is a look at
Palisades' first series of the much anticipated
Sesame Street figures in the package.
Orginally set to be released months ago, these figures have yet to make their way to retail shelves and may be in jeopardy of ever making it there.
Mike Horn, President of
Palisades Toy, recently posted this message on their company
message board:
There's not one person on the planet who wants this product line out more than me. It's been alluded to numerous times, but I'll say it here, on the record. The delays on this (and other) lines are directly related to the general lack of retail support. There's simply not enough orders to justify the massive production costs. That said, we are proceeding with production (and likely losing a ton of money in the process) so that we can try to get some momentum started and to satisfy collector desires.
It's not like we intentionally shorted the market or wanted to delay the shipments. It does us no good to do either. I really want this line to succeed. It's just very, very difficult when hardly anyone orders it.
That said, I do appreciate the retailers and consumers who have committed to the line and for them, it will be produced. We are working with the factory feverishly to get the stuff shipped ASAP. Unfortunately, I can't speed it up to make it a happy Christmas at your house, but I (and my entire team) am doing what I can to at least get the product out at all.
Sorry that's not the answer you were likely seeking, but it's all I have right now.
We here at
Toy News International feel it would be quite a shame if this line did not see the light of day. I think those of you who were lucky enough to have gotten last year's convention exclusive
Super Grover figure would agree.
So here is what we are
ENCOURAGING you, the consumer, to do. Contact your local retailers like Suncoast and Media Play, go toy your local comic shop, email your favorite toy etailer, and tell them you are interested in seeing them carry this line. If the retailer sees the consumer support is there, they in turn may be more likely to carry the line.
There are no
GUARANTEES, but if this is a line you want to see on your shelves, now is the time to make your voice heard.
