THR reports that Universal Pictures is in talks to ink a deal that would bring Lego's Hero Factory line of robotic toys to the big screen. Michael Finch and Alex Litvak (Predators) are said to be in negotiations to pen the script for the movie which would be produced by Mike Gordon, along with Ben Forkner and Dean Schneider of Film 360.

The basis for Lego's "Hero Factory" toy line is as follows, it is a place where heroes are designed, equipped and built for specific missions that will take place across the galaxy and time. These heroes travel in their hero pods ready to complete their missions and defeat evil wherever they may encounter it. The missions are many and varied.

According to THR the movie would be a live-action film set in the world of the mythology and will be different from the LEGO-based movie Warner Bros. is working on which will be a CGI-animated feature.
