The Lego Movie, to put it simply, is well…AWESOME! Granted the movie does start off a little slow and it’s clearly made for kids as the primary target market, well kids and Lego collectors. Still, I think the movie can be enjoyable for adults as well. A number of scenes in the movie had me literally laughing out loud. I won’t give too much away, but I think this may be the only time you will see a movie that has Batman interacting with Lando Calrissian.
The voice talent in this movie is grade A and includes the likes of Morgan Freeman, Will Ferrell, Elizabeth Banks, Will Arnett, Liam Neeson and Jonah Hill.
Like any good kid’s movie, there is a moral to the story, but it’s not one you will see coming until the end and it’s a pretty cool message. On top of that, it’s got a soundtrack that will have you coming out of the theater singing Everything’s Awesome in your head for at least a day.
The animation is pretty good too. If you have ever played one of the Lego-themed video games, then you know what to expect.
If you are looking for a fun and entertaining movie that the entire family can enjoy this weekend, then I highly recommend you check out Lego The Movie.
Grade: A- for Awesome
