Hulk Hogan, the well-known former wrestler for WWE and WCW, has passed away at age 71.
According to
TMZ, Hogan experienced a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida. Emergency responders arrived but were unable to save him.
He was a six-time WWE champion and won the Royal Rumble twice. In 2005, he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as an individual, and in 2020, he was honored as part of the NWO. He also held the WCW World Heavyweight title six times and once captured the IWGP Championship in New Japan Pro Wrestling.
WWE released a statement:
"WWE is saddened to learn WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan has passed away," the company wrote. "One of pop culture’s most recognizable figures, Hogan helped WWE achieve global recognition in the 1980s.
"WWE extends its condolences to Hogan’s family, friends, and fans."
