Mythic Legions: Legacies Of Mythoss

by Jay Cochran
November 8, 2024
As we move the Mythic Legions story from our first arc (“Rise of the Dark Four”) to the second major arc for Mythoss, we are aware that there are still lots of older figures in the line that Legionairres want to add to their collections. We’ve tried to do “Version 2s” of some of our major characters in recent waves, but with our story moving ahead, it will be harder to find spots for those older characters in their original looks. This is where Mythic Legions: Legacies of Mythoss comes in!

This subline of Mythic Legions figures will allow us to release key Mythic Legions characters as updated figures in their classic looks. These are similar to those aforementioned Version 2 figures, but instead of being released as part of a larger wave, they will be offered as small, 2 or maybe 3 figure offerings, with the first of these Legacies of Mythoss releases planned for 2025!

Of course, we couldn’t just drop this news and not show a teaser, and we knew that the only way to kick off this new subline was with the most requested figure from the Mythic Legions line. Coming in 2025 – OTHO 2!

Stay tuned for more images and details on Otho version 2, and the Legacies of Mythoss line!

The The Four Horsemen Mythic Legions Beyithirr Dragon Figure Set is available for pre-order at places like our sponsor BigBadToyStore.com with a suggested retail price of $799.99.From Four Horsemen comes the Beyithirr the Green Figure Set!

The figure stands 22 inches tall with its wings extended upwards, while also reaching an impressive 54 inches long with its tail extended. One of the ancient dragons known as the The 5 Pillars of the First World, the green dragon that makes its home in the deep forests of the West is called by many names Beyithirr the Green, the Pillar of the West, and the Warden of the Wood being a few of these monikers.Beyithirr was the first of the Pillars to emerge in the modern age of Mythoss. This mighty dragon looked out upon a landscape that was both familiar and strange to him. In the middle of the Great Sea, an area where no land should have existed, a new continent now lay. Flying high above these uncharted lands, Beyithirr looked down and saw a golden tower rising high into the sky, its sides adorned with the likenesses of mighty beasts. Strange beings gathered around the towers base, pointing to the skies with fascination in their eyes as Beyithirr circled high above the tower. The Pillar of the West could sense the threat before him. This land and its people did not belong. They were intruders in the world he had known for so long, and their presence had to be dealt with.Flying back towards his den, Beyithirr knew what he had to do. He could not remember the last time all 5 of the Pillars woke at the same time, but he also could not remember a threat as dire as what he saw before him now. He must raise his Order and awaken the other Pillars. Together they would decide what must be done to save the World of Mythoss. The fire-breathing head set is not included and sold separately and has a retail cost of $239.99.The epic wing set is not included and sold separately and has a retail cost of $269.99.In addition to the Beyithirr figure, this set includes a Sir Benegarr figure, the Ashen Skeleton figure, and the Beyithirr's Fury figure.Sir BenegarrThe Order of Beyithirr is a military force charged with protecting the resting place of the Pillar of the West and also furthering his commands during his long slumbers. Fighting under the command of Sir Benegarr, the Furies wear silver battle masks under their helmets. These masks bear the likeness of heroes who have fallen in the course of their military service. The final Beyithirr add-on set that still needed to reach a minimum order goal to guarantee production has met its goal. THE EPIC WINGS SET IS NOW FUNDED! This means that the giant extra wings for Beyithirr, as well as the Ashen Zombie figure that is included in that set, will now be produced! The Horsemen are so happy to have all 3 of the main items in the Beyithirr campaign now unlocked - the Beyithirr dragon, Fiery Breath add-on set, and the Epic Wings. The Fiery Breath set is fully unlocked, including its stretch goal of the Burning Knight upgrade set, at 1272 units sold. Forget about the idea of a mid-campaign slump! The Beyithirr campaign is on fire - literally! Thats because today the Horsemen are excited to announce that the Fiery Breath add-on set has met its stretch goal unlock at 1250 units sold (1251 to be exact)! This means that the Burning Knight upgrade set is now UNLOCKED and included at no extra charge with every single Fiery Breath add-on set that has been sold (and any additional ones that are preordered in this campaign). The Burning Knight upgrade set includes a new head (the skull in chainmail), a scorched shield, and a pair of lower arms and legs that are fully translucent to match the rest of the Burning Knight figure, which of course comes with the Fiery Breath add-on set already! You can see all the items that will now be included with the Burning Knight in this image.

The other add-on set, the Epic Wings, is also nearing an unlock threshold. That set is at 987 units sold, which is just 13 away from it being funded and guaranteed production! Finally, the Beyithirr dragon continues marching towards its first stretch goal unlock (Sir Benegarr upgrade set). We need 2500 units sold to get to that mark and we are now at 2153, which is 86% of the way to that threshold. The Beyithirr dragon and add-on sets are available exclusively at StoreHorsemen.com. Preorder ends on 4/6. Get your order in before time runs out on this historic action figure offering, which will NOT be offered for sale outside of this campaign, including at future live events or online sales. THIS is your chance to add the Mythic Legions dragon, and accompanying figures, to your collection!

I would be surprised if all the coming dragons reuse this body and cost $550.

If they can keep to $550 the way inflation has been hitting us in the next 3-5 years, we could hardly hope for a lower price. But if they could just make the dragon and not a mini wave of figures I'd rather save money and focus on the real star of the show. Another thing I'd like to see would be instead of buying another entire neck & head with an unarticulated open mouth... could we have a single optional segment extension and I don't know, a single dragon mouth that could both open and close and have a fire attachment at the same time? How about fully articulated wings that could bend at the elbow, not just the shoulder? Sometimes I feel like this project really could have spent more time hashing out the best possible engineering instead of making huge items that, unless I buy another loose dragon torso off ebay, are all going to need to stay tucked away in their packages. It's not like extra accessories I can throw in bins or diorama pieces somewhere.

A decrease in sheer size might be acceptable if they ever did a Bone Dragon or a Mechanical Dragon, but imo it would be a harder sell to downscale a scaled dragon because they'd be losing some of their greatest advantages: visual impact and the sense of breaking new ground. If they do end up going the route they'd have to make it so affordable they wouldn't need to crowdfund. But I'm just one peanut in the gallery.

Smaller in what way? You know they're going to reuse the main body at least once with changes to head and possibly tail. Did you mean smaller in terms of add-ons?
