Yesterday during Hasbro's YoJoe June Fanstream they gave us a good look at this years San Diego Coming Con exclusive G.I. Joe Classified The Springfield Theater Cold Slither Boxset. The set features Zartan, Torch, Ripper and Buzzer based on their appearance in the 80's Sunbow cartoon episode titled "Cold Slither". In the episode Cobra Commander "packages" Zartan and the Dreadnoks as a heavy metal band called "Cold Slither" and turns them loose as Pied Pipers on America's youth.

Each figure in the set features a musical instrument including Buzzer who has a full drum kit with stool and foot pedal. Torch includes a keytar which actually wasn't featured in the cartoon.

The figures come packaged in a box made to look like the "Spingfield Theater" which looks to have had other famous bands perform there like Jem And The Holograms and The Average Joes.

Hasbro has not yet released pricing information for the set but it will be sold at their SDCC booth with a limited number of quantities available sometime after the show on their HasbroPulse website. SDCC takes place July 24-27 this year.

Check out detailed images below in our GALLERY of the figures and their accessories below along with the packaging.

I've been wanting a 1:12 instrument set since 2003 when I started playing. This gets close to what I wish but I'm hoping we get more down the line and in a less than exclusive fashion

I want this for the instruments. Also its making want Hasbro to do some 6" Jem figures.

Seconded on both counts. A Cold Slither/Misfits double bill would be excellent ?

Plus I want that packaging - a theater background would be very useful! I just wonder who makes up the 'Average Joes' band. Rock 'N Roll, I expect, but do we know any other Joes with a muscial background or inclination that would make sense to group together? Or is that a reference to the cartoon that I still have never really watched?

I totally want this

Tired of the no mic stand complaints. They were lip-syncing people! ?

If the haslab is the snow cat it should be a cheaper haslab which will be good news to my wallet.

I had one issue checking out. My address was automatically populated by the cart, and when I clicked the button saying "Next: Payment" nothing happened. I clicked it again and nothing. I changed the address (I had the same address saved four times) and clicked again still nothing. Then I just clicked again three more times. It took me to a screen that made me confirm I was human, which I did. After that, everything went smoothly.

Mercer looks waaaay too short.

I think it's just because he's standing next to Sgt. Slaughter, who's kinda huge. While Mercer is massive in the Engergon Universe GI Joe comics from Skybound, this Mercer is supposed to be based his appearance in GI Joe: The Movie, where he was about as tall as Falcon, maybe a touch taller. If this Mercer figure is as tall as or taller than either Ugly Falcon or Night Force Falcon, Lenny and his team have done their job. Would I prefer a huge Mercer based on his comics appearance? Yes. Will I skip this two-pack? Also yes.

Been trying all afternoon and keep getting an error message that there is either high traffic or connectivity issues of some kind. Used different cards, tried three different browsers. Nothing. Slice and Dice don't want to be purchased.

I didnt have any issue getting them today.

Slice and Dice are pretty damn cool.
