by Peter Van
February 15, 2010
We were invited to stop by Jakks Pacific's New York offices today and were given a preview of their upcoming toys from the UFC and TNA lines.
UFC
4-inch Figures
These 4-inch figures will be out in spring 2010 and will be sold exclusively at Toys R Us. Four figures were showcased and a scaled ring will also be available.
Mini Figures
Available in spring 2010 as well, these mini figures will be available in three packs as well as play set. The set folds down on both sides to reveal a ring on one side and a training center on the other side. The training area has a punching bag, speed bag, a dummy, and is complete with locker rooms.
Ultimate Collector
Jakks Pacific partnered with Round 5 to develop these Ultimate Collector figures.
Series 2 will be coming into stores in April 15th with pre-sales from Target starting March 31st. The figures included in the series are:
Michael Bisping
BJ penn
Randy Couture
Kimbo Slice
Forrest Griffin
Tito Ortiz
Three-packs are also in the works and will be available beginning in quarter 4 at Canadian Tire and will be worked into U.S. chains soon. None of the figures or packaging has been approved yet, so we were not allowed to take any images. The one that was on display was a three-pack of Bruce Buffer, Georges St-Pierre, and BJ Penn.
They also showed off a 12-inch figure, which will be available soon. No pictures were allowed of him either, as it has not been approved.
TNA
Coming in the Fall of 2010, Jakks will be releasing figures featuring the superstars and legends from the TNA Wrestling.
There will be multiple figures in the main line, including Mick Foley, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan, and more.
The Series 1 line will have three types of rings: six-sided, steel six-sided, and square.
From the roleplay aspect, there will be TNA World Champion and Division Champion belts.
