How To Train Your Dragon Live-Action Toys from
Spin Master. Look for these toys to start hitting shelves in May of this year before the movie launch.
Dragons & Vikings Assortment
MSRP: $14.99 | Ages: 4+
Spin Master’s first offering is a collection of fan-favorite dragons and vikings, sold in pairs of one dragon and one rider each, with seven points of articulation. The three options are Gronckle and Fishlegs, Astrid and Deadly Nadder, and, of course, Hiccup and Toothless. Riders can be mounted on top of their dragon companions, and each dragon is made with Real Feel dragon wings, which imagine what dragon wings would feel like in the real world, and approximate real flapping action when moved up and down.
Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless
MSRP: $29.99 | Ages: 4+
The Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless figure is a larger adaptation of live-action Toothless that boasts a 26-inch wingspan–over two feet. This figure can be activated to trigger lights and sounds, which change based on its position as a standing Toothless will make different sounds than when the dragon is flying in a dive-bomb position. Hiccup from Spin Master’s Dragons & Viking Assortment is also able to snap into place as a rider on the Ultimate Plasma Blast Toothless for added play potential.
Real Flying RC Toothless
MSRP: $39.99 | Ages: 4+ |
Walmart Exclusive
The How to Train Your Dragon Superbowl trailer showed Hiccup and Toothless taking to the sky, and fans can replicate the maneuver with Spin Master’s Real Flying RC Toothless. This piece is designed with a remote control that determines Toothless’ flapping speed and is intuitive even for younger children. The toy is also USB rechargeable, gaining a full charge in about 40 minutes, and has a flight range of up to 250 feet.
Titan Red Death
MSRP: $29.99 | Ages: 4+ |
Target Exclusive
Gerard Butler teased How to Train Your Dragon being scarier in live-action, and one culprit is no doubt the movie’s biggest, meanest dragon, the Titan Red Death. Thanks to Spin Master, fans can pit their other How to Train Your Dragon figures against their in-movie antagonist with the largest dragon in the toy line. This Titan Red Death is 25 inches head to tail with a 23.5 inch wingspan. It also features articulated kegs and battle-damaged wings, and will roar at the press of a button.
Crossbow Launch Toothless
MSRP: $24.99 | Ages: 4+ |
Amazon Exclusive
Finally, Spin Master unveils the Crossbow Launch Toothless, a version of Toothless that can be shot into the air with the pull of a trigger. This foam Toothless has a 15-inch wingspan, and his tail is adjustable to help him perform aerial maneuvers after launch. The crossbow itself has been intentionally designed to be comfortable for smaller hands, so children can enjoy sending Toothless into the air with ease.
