Hot Toys - DX 03: 1/6th scale Michael Jackson (Bad Version) Collectible Figure

Hot Toys continues to show just how Bad…Ass they are with their new DX 03: 1/6th scale Michael Jackson (Bad Version) figure.

When you take this figure out of the brown shipping box, you see the enormous amount of effort Hot Toys took in designing the packaging for this figure. The all black box with Jackson’s image on the front can be opened much like you would a book. In fact, the box is held shut with a magnetic flap allowing you to easily seal or open the box at any time.

Opening the box feels like opening a vinyl record box set. A small bio of the legendary singer is on the left side while the right side contains a replica of an old 45 record for “BAD.” The record looks so real you may be tempted to slap it on an old turntable. The record is held in place by a removable piece of foam that covers the action figure in its own foam tray. Under the figure, a 3rd foam tray contains all the figures accessories – the figure is loaded.

The figure comes dressed in an all-black outfit including a black shirt and jacket like Michael wore in the “Bad” video. He wears multiple belts, and the entire outfit down to his shoes is very detailed and made to match the clothes Michael wore back then. The figure also comes with a white t-shirt and a white button-down shirt for a wardrobe change. The button down shirt doesn’t actually button so Michael will have to sport the open shirt look if you choose that option.

The figure also comes with a number of interchangeable hands so you can pose him with open hands, closed fists or even have him point. Finally, the figure comes with a lighted stand requiring three AAA batteries.

The figure itself is loaded with tons of articulation allowing you to pose it in multiple dance poses. The head sculpted by artist Lee So Young seems to be very true to Michael’s appearance in the early 90’s – even the hair.

Another feature included on this figure is the Parallel Eyeball Rolling System (PERS) and colored Translucent Iris. Simply put, this feature allows you to move the figure’s eyeballs. To do this, remove a piece on the back of the figure’s head and move a tiny knob up, down, left or right to move the eyes in the corresponding direction.
