Mezco continues to impress with their highly detailed One:12 Collective line with this newly released 1:12 scale Previews exclusive Judge Dredd and Lawmaster Bike set.
Fans of Hot Toys who have been looking for the same level of detail, accessories and articulation in a 6” line I think will really be interested in what Mezco is doing here.
This set features a figure of Dredd wearing a blue fabric uniform with highly detailed head sculpt that sports his iconic helmet (helmet is not removable). The fabric uniform features a working zipper that has a chain with Dread’s badge attached to it. The badge sticks to the figure with a magnet that is pretty cool. The figure also has two nicely sculpted shoulder pads that are removable and also stick to the figure using magnets. Besides that, the figure has a removable utility belt with places to hold two removable grenades, and a extra magazine clip for his Lawgiver pistol that is also included with the figure. The nicely sculpted boots feature a working holster on the right foot for the Lawgiver and a sheath on the left foot which features a removable knife. You will even see some blood splatter on one of his shoes.
Other accessories included with the figure are a daystick which can be attached to the belt, working handcuffs which can be stored on the back of the Lawmaster, 4 pairs of interchangeable hands (one pair of the hands are for gripping the Lawmaster handle bars which are included with the bike), figure stand with detachable flight stand arm and a rifle with removable magazine. I really like the added detail of the bullet sculpted inside the magazine clip for the riffle.
For the Lawmaster bike you get a highly detailed looking vehicle with rubber treaded tires that roll well and give you really good balance. The bike has a working kickstand and the front wheel can turn left and right for steering capabilities. Beyond that, the bike features 3 different sets of working lights along with weapon and engine sound effects. The bike requires 4 AAA batteries which are included.
If that’s not enough, they even give a working fabric rain poncho with Velcro strips that make it easy to put it on or take off the figure, and a One:12 Collective ziplock bag to store all your accessories.
Articulation is pretty decent with the figure, though it can be somewhat limited with the fabric outfit which is one of my only minor complaints with this set.
Like with Hot Toys, the One:12 Collective figures are not cheap. Figures themselves will run you around $65 and this set with the bike costs about $260. Still with all the detail and accessories you are getting I think the cost is justifiable.
If you are a Judge Dredd fan, whether it be from the comics or movies, I think this is a set you will want to check out. It is available now for purchase at e-tailers like BigBadToyStore.com. It should also be available at most comic and specialty shops since this is a Diamond Previews exclusive.
