Warner Bros. Television has announced that actress Jennifer Beals will be joining the cast of Swamp Thing as Sheriff Lucilia Cable.

The character of Cable is an original character created for the series and is described as tough as nails and pragmatic. She has a fierce devotion to her son, Matt, is rivaled only by her sworn duty to serve and protect the town of Marais. As the community she has dedicated her life to defending is beset by strange forces, Lucilia must double down in her efforts to safeguard everyone she holds dear.

I mean, it has potential but I don't have high hopes for the Swamp Thing's looks. I'm a little scared to see the images of him. Though watching this could change my mind.

Wait... WHAAAT!!! Swamp Thing gets a show in the CW series?!? I could only imagine what the crossover events will look like with him.

If done right, I think a Swamp Thing series would be awesome. Steps away from the typical super hero formula and could really ad something unique to the lineup.

I am all for new comic inspired shows. I hope that they get it right and do't eat more that they can chew. It's a huge investment to be lost.

Man, I had such a crush on her, back in the day... Its good to see that shes still active, and going to be a part of this series. Id say that Im tentatively curious about it. I remember the Swamp Thing movies and former tv show, which I was only ever loosely interested in. Well see how this one goes.
