Ella Purnell Joins Walton Goggins In Prime Video Series Based On 'Fallout' Games

March 30, 2022
Ella Purnell is set to headline Fallout, Prime Video’s series adaptation of the bestselling game franchise. Purnell will be the star opposite cast lead, Walton Goggins.

Purnell's character has yet to be revealed, but she is believed to be playing the lead, referred to as Jean, a young woman with a can-do attitude who may be hiding a dangerous secret.

The world of Fallout is one where the future envisioned by Americans in the late 1940s explodes upon itself through a nuclear war in 2077. The magic of the Fallout world is the harshness of the wasteland set against the previous generation’s utopian ideal of a better world through nuclear energy.

The series comes from Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy’s Kilter Films, Amazon Studios, and Kilter Films in association with Bethesda Game Studios and Bethesda Softworks. Nolan is set to direct the premiere and executive produce with Joy and Athena Wickham for Kilter Films; Todd Howard for Bethesda Game Studios’ and James Altman for Bethesda Softworks. Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner serve as showrunners on the series, which is slated to begin production in 2022.

If this movie is half as good as the video game, then this will be an amazing movie. This has to be watched in 3D.

It's a TV show, not a movie...

Based on one of the greatest video game series of all time, Fallout is the story of haves and have-nots in a world in which theres almost nothing left to have. 200 years after the apocalypse, the gentle denizens of luxury fallout shelters are forced to return to the irradiated hellscape their ancestors left behind and are shocked to discover an incredibly complex, gleefully weird and highly violent universe waiting for them. From executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy, the creators of Westworld, starring Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins and more. All episodes arrive April 11 on Prime Video.

I love Fallout, there's so much story and nuance there, however that's not a guarantee it can work as a show but glad to see Emerson and MacLachlan although besides that trailer does have almost low budget look. It also suck they didn't invite OG Fallout creators, like Tim Cain, Leonard Boyarsky and others as consultants but you have Todd Howard name one it as if he is creator of Fallout, and yeah he did play big role in reviving franchise but c'mon.

Prime Video debuted the official teaser trailer for Fallout during the series' panel at CCXP, Brazil's massive fan and comic book convention in So Paulo.

The teaser delighted fans with a first video glimpse into the Fallout universe, as it revealed more of the series' signature characters, including The Ghoul, as well as its vaults, mysterious Wasteland, and the Brotherhood of Steel. Fallout will premiere on Prime Video exclusively on April 12, 2024, in more than 240 countries and territories around the world.

During the series' panel conversation on CCXP's iconic Thunder Stage, executive producer and director Jonathan Nolan, executive producer and co-showrunner Graham Wagner, and series stars Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, and Walton Goggins lifted the veil on the epic drama series, giving a sneak peek into its action, tongue-in-cheek gore, and twisted, post-apocalyptic setting, before premiering the teaser in-room to more than 3,500 enthusiastic audience members.

In addition to the show panel, thousands of convention attendees were transported into the world of Fallout through Prime Video's immersive show-floor activation, which put fans right into the action and treated them to never-before-seen glimpses into the universe and exclusive photo-ops.
