Peacock is set to unveil its highly anticipated event series, Ted, created by Seth MacFarlane. The streaming platform has announced that all seven episodes, including an extra-long premiere, will premiere on January 11, 2024. Serving as a prequel to the beloved film franchise, Ted promises to take viewers on a side-splitting journey back to the 90s with its R-rated humor.

The series boasts a fresh ensemble cast, featuring talented actors such as Max Burkholder (known for Parenthood), Alanna Ubach (from Euphoria), Scott Grimes (star of The Orville), and Giorgia Whigham (known for her role in 13 Reasons Why). Meanwhile, Seth MacFarlane will continue to lend his voice to the iconic character of Ted.

“It’s 1993, and Ted the Bear’s moment of fame has passed. He’s now living back home in Framingham, Massachusetts with his best friend, 16-year-old John Bennett (Burkholder), along with John’s parents, Matty and Susan (Grimes and Ubach), and cousin Blaire (Whigham). Ted may be a lousy influence on John, but at the end of the day, he’s a loyal pal who’s always willing to go out on a limb for friendship.”

Peacock's decision to greenlight Ted as a straight-to-series order was made in 2021.
