Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment are currently in the final stages of negotiations with Gareth Edwards, the director of Rogue One, to take the helm of a brand new Jurassic World film.

Edwards spent the entire last week meeting with executives and his impressive meetings with Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall, the producers who kickstarted the franchise in the 90s, led to a quick offer. Once the deal is finalized, pre-production will kick into high gear as the studio has already set a release date for July 2, 2025.

According to Deadline, It appears that David Leitch is no longer in discussions to helm the film. Sources indicate that the separation was friendly, with both the studio and Leitch having divergent creative visions for the project.

Damn, I read that first as David Lynch. Now I'm disappointed.

So a movie where all the dinosaurs exist in a dream but dreams are the only true reality because what is reality anyway if not a Stegosaurus dreaming?

According to Deadline, David Leitch is currently in early discussions to direct the upcoming installment of the highly successful franchise. Scheduled to be released on July 2, 2025, this new film will offer a fresh perspective on the Jurassic era. However, fans should not expect to see familiar faces such as Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Jeff Goldblum, Laura Dern, and Sam Neill from the previous movies.

The movie will be brought by the executive production of Steven Spielberg through Amblin Entertainment, with Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley serving as producers. Additionally, David Leitch and Kelly McCormick will also produce through their company 87North. Overseeing the project for the Studio will be Sara Scott, the Executive Vice President of Production Development, and Jacqueline Garell, the Creative Executive of Production Development.

This had dang well better be closer to the novel.

I'm counting on a full 35 minutes explaining the precision of Cray super computers.

Terrible, why? do something new, or just keep making sequels that get increasingly sillier, don't reboot Jurassic Park, the first film is one of the best films ever, we don't need to draw over it, it's iconic, a reboot just seems like a poor idea, nobody wants a reboot.

but like others have said if you are gonna reboot it, follow the book closer, make it darker and more a horror film, I could maybe get behind that, If it's just a fun re-do of the first film it's going to stink I can bet that, because it's going to have all of the 2020 humour, CGI that just looks meh for some reason (why did CGI seem to get worse?) and some whatever actors.

I would be down for this if it sticks closer to the novel , dont get me wrong I love the original movie but that said the it should of been a r rated if it was closer to the book , I get why they changed it up one the book has a lot of exposition and way more gore , and B, they wanted kiddies to enjoy the first movie with still having some high tension scenes

It's not a JP remake or "reboot". How can I confirm this? First, it says "World" and because its the same script writer that wrote JP and TLW, and Exec Produced by S.Sp. They're just trying to say it won't be tied into JW storylines.
