Deadline has announced that Aramis Knight and Wyatt Oleff have been cast in Sony Pictures' upcoming Karate Kid film, alongside Ben Wang in the lead role. The specific characters that the new additions will portray have not been revealed yet.
Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio have been confirmed to return to their iconic roles to further expand the original franchise's mythology. Joining them are Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen, who will also be a part of this project.
Jonathan Entwistle will be directing the film, while Rob Lieber has penned the screenplay. Karen Rosenfelt will be taking on the role of producer.

Yeah, that's kind of what I meant. The movies are a lot more straightforward in tone, lighthearted at times but earnest, while the show spends a decent amount of time poking fun at them.

I hope they keep the tone of the series. Nothing too serious, but a lot to learn about relationships of all kind.

According to Variety, Ming-Na Wen has been confirmed to join the cast of Sony's upcoming 'Karate Kid' film.
The previously announced cast includes Ben Wang in the lead role, as well as returning actors Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio, reprising their characters from previous films in the franchise. Joining them will be Joshua Jackson and Sadie Stanley.
The movie will be directed by Jonathan Entwistle, with the screenplay written by Rob Lieber. Karen Rosenfelt will serve as the producer.
Sony Pictures has set the release date for December 13, 2024 in theaters.
