Benjamin Evan Ainsworth & Bo Bragason Cast For Live-Action 'Legend Of Zelda'

Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto announced on Nintendo's official X page that the live-action Legend of Zelda movie, produced in collaboration with Sony, has secured its lead roles. Bo Bragason will portray Zelda, while Benjamin Evan Ainsworth will take on the role of Link.

“This is Miyamoto. I am pleased to announce that for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda, Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason-san, and Link by Benjamin Evan Ainsworth-san. I am very much looking forward to seeing both of them on the big screen.”

In the autumn of 2023, Sony initially revealed its plans to collaborate with Nintendo in the distribution and co-financing of a Zelda film, with Wes Ball appointed as the director, and Miyamoto alongside Avi Arad serving as producers. The latest version of the script was written by T.S. Nowlin. The movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on May 7, 2027.
