Amazon MGM Studios Reveals Title For 'Masters Of The Universe'

Nicholas Galitzine will star as He-Man in Masters of the Universe. He is joined by Camila Mendes, who plays Teela. Alison Brie’s role is Evil-Lyn, and Idris Elba will portray Man-At-Arms. Morena Baccarin is cast as The Sorceress. Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson takes on the character Malcolm, also known as Fisto. Hafţór Júlíus Björnsson plays Goat Man. Sam C. Wilson will appear as Trap Jaw, and Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops.

Director Travis Knight helms the film, with a script by Chris Butler. The screenplay is based on an initial draft written by David Callaham and the Nee brothers. The project is a collaboration between Escape Artists and Mattel Films. Producers include Robbie Brenner, Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, and Steve Tisch.

The film will follow 10-year-old Prince Adam who crashed to Earth in a spaceship and was separated from his magical Power Sword—the only link to his home on Eternia. After tracking it down almost two decades later, Prince Adam is whisked back across space to defend his home planet against the evil forces of Skeletor. But to defeat such a powerful villain, Prince Adam will first need to uncover the mysteries of his past and become He-Man: the most powerful man in the Universe!

The live-action movie is scheduled for release in theaters on June 5, 2026
