There was and you're probably guessing correctly as to why it didn't make it to production.

IIRC there was a tease way back of the sculpt of the massive shark. I don't know why they didn't move on with production because it looked beautiful. I'm guessing the cost was gonna be too high (I kinda wish they could at least do one like Mattel's super colossal dinos eventually)
