Walmart Collector Con Official Announcement

July 16, 2020
Walmart has sent out official word to promote their "Collector Con" event. It doesn't really tell us anything more than what we already knew just by looking at their landing page, but we thought we would pass it on to you anyway.

Starting tomorrow, July 17 at 10 a.m. EST, fans can pre-order exclusive, limited edition items from McFarlane, Mondo, Star Wars, Marvel, Transformers and more.

Many of the items were meant to be at the comic convention, but are now being exclusively offered to Walmart customers.

Below is a sneak peek at a few products we thought you and your readers would be interested in.

·Spider-Man Peter Parker (Marvel Comics) ($80.00)
·Dragon Ball Z – 3D Foam Figural Bag Clip – 3 pc ·Collector’s Set ($25.00)
·Rick & Morty – Rick Figure ($25.00)
·Rick & Morty – Morty Figure ($25.00)
·Vinyl Spawn Baby BLACK ($25.00)
·Vinyl Spawn Baby BLUE ($25.00)

Collector Con is just the beginning – a highly curated selection of pop culture items and exclusive offerings will now be regularly featured in Walmart stores and on walmart.com/collectibles.

I kinda can't believe it, since I wasn't using some kind of bot, but I lucked out and was able to preorder the Marty McFly POP! at just before 12:01 AM. Looks like it was gone off the site by 12:02.

Does these toys can be shipped overseas too? Or I have to look somewhere else? ?

I don't think so... You may have to relay on buying at another retailer online if there is any or buy from eBay or from another fan that can give you a better price than on all the other options...

Nope, which is my gripe all the time with these Target/Walmart/Walgreen exclusives... the sites solely ship within the US, however these figures maybe and can show up as exclusives to stores in your country.. but also might not.. you probably also won't get any information in regards to if they are.. you may just one day waltz into a retailer and see one of these US exclusives on a peg or maybe click your fav local etailer.. and go wow cool, but most likely you won't know and you will miss out, happens often here in Canada so I can imagine elsewhere is the same... really makes me mad, that there is little to no support from these companies outside of the US and whom these companies might partner with if at all internationally, so yeah maybe look elsewhere...or my motto is... fagata bout it..maybe you might get lucky... or there is always the fact these are really technically EBay exclusives for 80 bucks in your currency

Yeah, my old Walmart was pretty decent for finding stuff. The one where I moved to now is depressing, empty shelves and no sign of stocking.

Most of my Walmarts are weird. Most of the time, their toy departments look like my local K-Mart the day before it closed. Thenmaybe once or twice a year, usually around the holidays, you'll hit one and it's like Randall visiting the video store in Clerks. Pegs loaded to near overflowing with everything you could want. BEAUTIFUL. A week later, its the surface of the moon again.

Mind you, this was before Covid-19 ever became a thing. Nowadays . . . no change whatsoever.

they dont protect against bots at all,

How stupid is that? I can't even sign into Pulse without proving I'm not a robot.

I am not even going to get excited about this, as Walmart and Target consistently fail at preorders and exclusives, they dont protect against bots at all, and it just sounds like a headache waiting to happen.

Has anybody had success with any of the con drops so far? I decided I'm not even attempting this year.

Jay will probably have a better answer, but it's my understanding that many of these items are to be sold in stores, too. Most of us, however, really wouldn't have any better luck with that.

Im still waiting for Walmarts PR people to get back to me on that. They didnt know but said they would check. I think some will and some wont but dont know for sure.

Oh and over in the Entertainment Section where they are keeping the NECA stuff they had 2 Godzilla figures and Friday the 13th Jason. No TMNT at all.
