NECA Universal Monsters The Bride of Frankenstein and The Creature from the Black Lagoon (Black and White Version) Review and Images

This week, we're having a look at the 2 latest Universal Monsters Ultimate action figures from NECA, the Bride of Frankenstein and the Creature from the Black Lagoon, both in all their black and white glory! 2 more great offering for that line by NECA!

The Bride of Frankenstein, as portrayed by Elsa Lanchester in 1935, is a fantastic figure. She comes with 3 different heads, a soft goods gown, an extra pair of hands, and bandages. If you have the Frankenstein monster and the accessory set, it is a no-brainer that you also need that one. You can display her without the gown, full of bandages, like before when she is on the table in the movie, with bandages all over. The 2 unmasked head sculpts look stunning. The packaging art is, as always with that line, beautiful, using old posters from the film, with lots of colors.




















The Creature from the Black Lagoon, as portrayed by Ben Chapman and Ricou Browning, was one that I was really looking forward to. I've loved the design of that creature since I was a kid, and I nearly broke my own 'rule' of getting only the black and white versions of those figures to get the colored one, as it looks so good in green too. 'Gill-man' comes with 3 interchangeable head sculpts and 3 extra pairs of hands (4 pairs in total). I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't come with more accessories, but at the same time, can't say what I would have added (a harpoon gun? a net?). The figure has a ton of details and looks amazing, with all the textures on the skin.
