I was able to get all four turtles through AliExpress, which was a huge relief. On top of that, I have Bebop and Rocksteadypre-ordered through BBTS, so those are locked in as well. Ive never really gotten into any of the other TMNT lines from NECA, Loyal Subjects, or Super7. There were times I came closelike Id be right there, hovering over the 'Buy' buttonbut I always pulled back at the last minute. Then something caught my eye: Super7 announced they were coming out with figures based on the 2003 TMNT cartoon. That version is my absolute favorite, so naturally, I was really tempted. I went ahead and pre-ordered the figures on BBTS, and then I saw they teased even more characters, like Splinter, Shredder, Foot Ninja, and Casey Jones. I was excited because this is hands down my favorite TMNT era, but Im still on the fence about these figures.
The thing is, Im not the biggest fan of Super7 overall. I think their prices are pretty steep for what you get. It feels like theyre charging more than they should, especially compared to other companies. So, while I did pre-order the 2003 TMNT figures, Im seriously considering canceling it. Ideally, I was hoping NECA would snag the license to make the 2003 TMNT figures. NECAs quality and pricing tend to feel more justified, at least to me, so I was really holding out for them to tackle that particular version of the turtles.
But then, just when I thought I was done, I stumbled across the Joy Toy TMNT figures. I have to admit, these really grabbed my attention in a way that the other lines didnt. There was something about them that just hooked me immediately. Even though theyre only 4 inches, which is smaller than what I usually go for, I found myself not really minding the size. Its rare for a line to pull me in this quickly, but the Joy Toy figures did just that. Now, this is a line I can genuinely see myself getting into, and Im excited to see where it goes from here.

There is not.

The more the better. This entire hobby should be defined by who is 1/12 vs 1/18. It will be like PS vs Xbox. Its why I collect.
As much as my first instinct is to make a tongue-in-cheek response, I'm instead going to note that the people (myself included) talking about not collecting 1/18 are nonetheless expressing appreciation and admiration for the figures. I don't think there's really a problem with saying "wow, that looks great" while also clarifying that it doesn't fit with your collection. Kinda the opposite of the PS vs Xbox crowd, really.

These look great, but as others have said, it's just not my preferred scale. Glad I won't have to be dropping on JoyToy (import) prices.
I like the overall aesthetics. Not too vibrant colors, but still pop. Also, the accessories are neat.

Right now, Im just waiting for Joy Toy to make them available officially here in the U.S. It would be pretty dumb of them not to do so, especially since theres such a big market for these figures. Im hoping to get them through BigBadToyStore.
I did see the four Turtles briefly listed on Amazon through a third-party seller, but Im holding out for the official release. Now with the announcement of Bebop and Rocksteady, it looks like we're in for another TMNT action figure line, and this one really catches my interest. If Joy Toy dives deep into the TMNT universe, I can imagine we might see figures of Shredder, Master Splinter, Casey Jones, April, and Foot Clan Ninjas in the lineup.

These are looking more interesting than the AXN versions I have man... Are these the first Joytoy TMNT figures? I don't recall seeing more. The villains side should be very cool...???? A Leatherhead for example.??
