I'd quickly lose interest if every wave was so loose, like who wants half a team, just no focus here....like they expect this line will last for 20 years, when starting with a willy nilly line up, likely will hinder sales and spooks fans.
But I will disappear, since this isn't for me, I just want the people who deserve to be, to be happy.
This approach would make sense if they were done in the same style as the Playmates line from the 90's.

Given that Nacelle lives on super obscure lines in the first place (C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa or Sectaurs hardly have the cultural impact to warrant multiple series of action figures some three/four decades after their original, less-than-stellar launches), and that there is such a spread of Trekkie interest even among the TOS through Berman eras, the interesting approach to the line seems to fit with Nacelle's overall company strategy. It may well be a more viable approach than just 'now we do the TNG wave, now we do the Voyager wave, now we do the TAS wave' in terms of keeping people going and checking who's in the next wave and getting caught up in 'oh wow, they're releasing a figure of [insert obscure character here]' and keeping the line going longer if they get it to retail. Worked for Marvel Legends for the longest time, though we're in a different economic environment and fan expectations now than the true heyday of that line, but I have faith that Nacelle are going to give it a good go - they've built themselves on nerd-property documentaries and even named themselves with Trek starship terminology! I just hope they've got the license for a good long time so they can build crews steadily.
And then get the license expanded to include the Secret Hideout-era too ?
I gotta say, I wasn't interested in sailor Geordi, but it's really growing on me.
Thats a valid point. I think im only going to be in for wrath of Khan myself. But starting that off with scotty's nephew & carol marcus and hoping that they actually follow through and get to everyone else is a bit daunting lol.

Its amazing to me that they're throwing out such a wide net, but hey there are a LOT of Trekkies out there, so more power to 'em. If the line is successful enough I can even see them doing a "BAF" type play set of the NCC 1701 bridge. But....baby steps....

How has there not been a full all encompassing Black Series like line for Star Trek, I guess this is it, but like really I'd be absolutely terrified if I collected this line, like nothing feels like it will be complete unless this goes on for 50 years.

Yep. Though they could do a swappable torso/extra accessory to have that excursion jacket look as a possibility too, now that we've seen that holodeck Generatons Worf...

Gotta say, the more I see of this line, the more I like it, especially with what should be oddball options like the Generations Holodeck outfits. They actually look really nice in those renders and the fact that they're loading them up with extra options and accessories to overcome the initial 'meh'ness I know I felt about them really shows that they care about this line. Feels like they're really working to make it worthwhile and fun. The price is keeping be from going all-in on it for even characters I'm so-so on - Tuvix, Year of Hell Janeway and Mirror Archer are still out of contention for me - but when they throw in something like the console for the Romulan Commander who I'd otherwise have no interest in...
Can you imagine if they go full on 'ultimate' for the TOS wave and them dress uniform torsos, Kirks green wraparound, as well as the other options other people have already mentioned? It'd probably not be a smart business move - why sell a single figure that does it all when you could sell multiple individual figures for the A-list characters in their different looks - but the mere prospect is very exciting!
