The Ghost of Sam Arrow™ – Palisades’ first convention exclusive of 2004 – lands in time for Wizard World Los Angeles
Elkridge, MD (January 9, 2004) – Over the past several years, Palisades Toys has become well known for producing highly-sought after action figures as convention exclusives. And don’t expect that to change in 2004. While the company is not ready to disclose its line up for the entire year, the first convention exclusive – the Ghost of Sam Arrow™ – has been revealed.
“We love convention exclusives,” says Palisades President & CEO, Michael Horn, “They help to increase attendance at shows, and they allow for us to get fun variations of our favorite characters out to the fans. It’s win: win!”
The Ghost of Sam Arrow appeared in the 1996 feature film, Muppet Treasure Island™. Presumed dead by the band of pirates who have taken over the Muppets’ ship, Sam Arrow – played, of course, by Sam the Eagle (as performed by Frank Oz) – is coated in flour and covered with seaweed to make him appear ethereal. Of course, when he appears to the superstitious pirates, they flee in terror!!
