3.75" Scale Phoenix From Battle Of The Planets By IronWill

August 19, 2012
This week's TNI Cool Custom is of a 3.75" scale Phpenix ship from the "Battle of the Planets" series This custom was done by IronWill.

Here is how he describes the making of it.

"The finale to my Gatchaman run: God Phoenix! Going as far as I had with this line of customs and with the show having being one of my first childhood favorites I had to make a Phoenix as close to scale as I could to go with the line. There was little room for trial and error with this project and although I would have liked to have saved the interior (as it matched the show pretty closely) I had to run the wings through the inside.

The base ship is the Star Wars Naboo Royal Starship."

OMG these are awesome my man! You did an outstanding job! Looks like you got the heads from the yujin japanese figures maybe? I LOVE the Galactor goon! That has to be a action figure first for him Hahaha. I Have like 12 or more volumes of the ADV videos( Gatchaman) and I still watch them from time to time. WAY better than the GForce toon we grew up with. Great job I rarely post on these forums anymore but I had to comment on these guys. Jinpei/Key-op looks a little buff though LOL But Berg Katse looks perfect!

not to thread jack or anything but check out what I did with one of my Gatchaman figure sets

Thanks! Those are awesome! And the ADVs are the way to go. Yeah Jinpei was the only one I was not 100percent satisfied with.

Heads are from several different Japanese PVC and figures that I ordered picking the best one for each figure.

Thanks for the great comments guys!

GREAT Job man! G-force (as I grew up knowing it) has a very special place in my childhood memories. It was one of my first favorite cartoons. I'd watch that and starblazers. Didn't realize until college that the REAL versions of those shows was SO much better. I've wanted to build a Gatchaman team but I haven't had time. What are you using for their heads?
