G.I.Joe Pursuit Of Cobra Canceled Mail-Away Cobra Commander Coming To The Collector Club

For those keeping track, back during the 2009 G.I.Joe Convention Hasbro had announced they were going to offer an exclusive Pursuit of Cobra mail-away figure featuring Cobra Commander on a special Cobra cardback. The figure was going to come with a number of accessories including a Cobra Staff and a cool red chrome H.I.S.S. drone mini-tank with rocket launcher and removable weapon attachments. Shortly thereafter Hasbro nixed the whole mail-away thing and released the figure at retail, however one thing that was missing from the retail version was the cool H.I.S.S. drone.

Now apparently the folks at the G.I.Joe Collector club have secured a limited number of these figures with the drone which they now have up for pre-order on their website. The figure is selling for $18 to "Officer Members", $35 to "Trooper Members" and $60 to "Non-Members." They say the figure will start shipping within 4 weeks of July 31, 2011.
