With this week's
announcement that Paramount will move the release date for the G.I.Joe: Retaliation movie from June 29, 2012 to March 29, 2013, many consumers were left wondering what would happen with the G.I.Joe: Retaliation toys, some of which had already hit retail shelves. Would they be recalled or would stores continue to try to move the product even without a big summer movie to promote it. We went to straight to the folks at Hasbro to get an update. Here is their official response:
G.I. Joe is an ongoing consumer franchise and therefore there is merchandise available to consumers. There is a limited amount of G.I. Joe Retaliation product at retail now, but in light of the movie moving out to March 29, 2013, the majority of the movie line will be made available early next year in time for the film’s release.
So if you see the toys in stores now, you may want to grab them up as it would appear most of the stuff won't be released till we get closer to the new movie release date in March.
