The GIJoe Club has released their information brochure for the 2014 G.I. Joe Convention which will be celebrating 50 years of G.I.Joe.

In the brochure we get our first details for the 3.75" figure set which will be themed G.I. Joe Zombie Hunters:

COBRA forces have acquired the “Compound Z” formula and have started testing it on their own soldiers. They believe by creating zombie warriors they can rule the World and turn its population into mindless creatures. G.I. JOE headquarters is split on how to handle the zombie affliction: save or eradicate?

GENERAL HAWK has formed two groups to solve this deadly problem. Who will be successful? Will it be the Zombie Hunters whose mission is to eradicate those infected or will it be the E.C.O. (Emergency Chemical Operations) Force trying to rescue and find an antidote for those afflicted? And, what about the team members who become zombies, are they a casualty of war? If too many are turned, who will be left to complete their mission? Only time will tell and it’s running out!

The 2014 G.I. JOE vs. COBRA convention set contains highly requested teams and some new additions available for the first time in the modern era 25A action figure style. This special edition set includes:

Zombie Hunters: Outback, T’J Bang, Steel Brigade Commander / E.C.O. Force: Flint, Ozone, Clean-Sweep / Cobra Lab-Rats x 2, Toxo-Vipers x 3, Toxo-Zombies x 3, and Repulsor with Dawg (NEW K-9).

Each of these great teams comes with classic weapons, accessories, figure stands and file cards in this exciting fifteen figure boxed set.

I think if this was a different year, the reaction would be more positive. Of all the years to try something new, the big 50th wasn't the year. I know of some of you dislike zombies but they have been part of the mythos since Rah days. Granted the "bad" rah days, but I don't mind them. If i had the $ and they looked good I'd get the set.

I think the club just saw how everyone went crazy over the zombie themed figures that were sown at Joe Con last year and figured we would want these too. Plus I'm sure that it a little hard to get figures aproved right now when Hasbro doesn't even seem to know what they're doing with the line.

I liked the zombie figures they displayed before.

I was just hoping they included Sergeant Slaughter in this set...

I don't like zombies but I'm not disappointed either.

My expectation for GI Joe for the forseeable future has been little to nothing. When you have no expectations, you can't be disappointed.

I have absolutely not interest in mixing zombies into GI Joe. I bought the Zombie Viper for no other reason that to make my 30th figure set complete. That will be all for me.

very odd.I won't be able to make it or even purchase home front heroes this year. It so unds like i won't miss much though. T'JBang with zombies? Steel Brigrade Commander treated as a standard character? I feel like the side items this year could include Steel Brigade soldiers, and gen hawk himself.

Could be interesting, but I want pics.
