Physically, Thomas Jane looked the closest to what I envision a live action Punisher. When it comes to how I perceive the character as in being a relentless, ruthless killing machine I think Stevenson's version captured that better, that's just my opinion. You are right, both of the movies suck in fact I feel Frank Castle hasnt gotten an ideal live action adaptation.

I was also thinking that maybe Hasbro was trying to make a joke/reference to Ray Stevenson's portrayals of both Punisher and Firefly. I actually consider Stevenson's Firefly to be the only good thing from that movie. I also like his take on Punisher more than any other live action version.

You don't have to have seen it. The "remember" is rhetorical. Probably should have been phrased as "Don't forget: Ray Stevenson played Firefly in GI Joe: Retaliation," but I've been a bit distracted today dealing with health insurance and first of the year COBRA (interesting coincidence) continuation BS.The "thick collar armor" on the figure strongly resembles a Russian bomb squad vest.

Lol, I think I only watched trailer and that's all. maybe they are paying respect with that thick collar armor.

Firefly is pretty cool figure, his eyes look really impressive, reminds me a bit of Ray Stevenson'sPunisher. This figure could serve as great army builder for more realistic type of military enemies.

Yeah it's not a bad figure, just think for Firefly it could be better. I agree this would make for a great goon type character though.

Good review, I really like the Viper more after your review. Your right about fireflys vest. He needs something more stealthy and less cumbersome.

Only 6 figures to a store, and you had to drive half and hour to get to that one store because your closest didn't have them....this is unacceptable. Its unacceptable that this line is advertised to drop on Target's website at x date and within minutes, they're totally sold out. I would love it if reviewers and most of all, collectors, would just turn their backs totally on this line, and let Hasbro & Target know all they're doing is feeding the scalpers.

I know that months ago I contacted Hasbro and their representative seemed upset and apologized, and more or less said these would be re-released for the holidays. Clearly that wasn't true. Well, I cant bother buying a product that the manufacturer doesn't want to sell to me.

@22:34 Jc, I would get some more verification on this person who told you his store got 18 figures. How does he know that, did he see them, count them, buy em all up to scalp on ebay? Curious.

I did get verification from the guy who said the 18, and its someone I know personally who is a collector so I am not worrying about him lying. He's not a scalper. He did see them, He did buy more than one, but to army build and to help some of his fellow Joe collector friends get them. What's unknown is if it was a fluke, did someone screw up and that store ended up getting the stock from other stores in the area, IDK.

As for turning our backs. Well I don't think that's a viable solution. That would likely just cause the line to end all together. The unfortunate reality is that a company like Hasbro isn't going to put any effort into a line unless the big box retailers are willing to carry the line, and in order for those big box retailers to be willing to carry these things, exclusives become part of the equation. There just is not enough sales that come from online only selling whether its directly on their own site or other small online etailers. Perhaps that is a failing of the collectors, those who seem to refuse to be willing to purchase their stuff online from the small guy for whatever reason, or maybe there is just that many non-collectors who end up buying from the big box stores, again I honestly don't know.

I am perfectly willing to call out companies and the big box retailers for the frustrations that is caused with the lack of availability for some of this stuff and point out how this tactic while perhaps it creates an artificial demand that entices the scalper element of the hobby or those who collect simply for a perceived future value aspect, it also drives people who aren't willing to put up with the hassle away. That perhaps long term the strategy isn't a sound one. At the same time however if I am being honest and realistic, I also have to acknowledge that there is a certain sizable portion of people who collect this stuff that do it for monetary reasons or even a perceived "I've got something you don't" attitude. You have to honestly ask yourself, if you could easily walk into any Target tomorrow and find these figures, and that was common knowledge, how many people all of a sudden would no longer be interested or care that much about getting these figures???? Would those figures just end up collecting dust on shelves?

I am also perfectly willing to continue to STRESS the fact that people shouldn't resort to going to Scalpers to get these figures, either be patient and wait or simply do without, but that those who do pay scalper prices are only exasperating the scalper problem. That the best way to put a scalper out of business is make it so they are stuck with unsold inventory. As long as people are willing to pay scalper prices I guarantee you there will always be scalpers out there willing to sell to them, and I think some collectors have to take responsibility in there part of that.

Again though, just turning your back which I assume you mean don't collect them at all, will only IMO just cause the line to cease all together and not bring about the change your hoping for.
