For those hopping we get some kind of updated
Hooded Cobra Commander figure either from
Hasbro or
Super7, don't expect it to happen any time soon. Despite the blue Cobra Hood being one of the Cobra leader's signature looks going back to the 80s, according to
Super7's Brian Flynn a Hooded Cobra Commander headsculpt is not allowed at this time. That is what he told someone on
Instagram when asked if he would include a Hooded headsculpt with the recently announced
Ultimates 7" Cobra Commander figure.
It has been rumored for sometime that
Hasbro banned the use of the hood in recent years due to the racist imagery many associate with it when seeing a man wearing hood, especially a evil terrorist dictator like Cobra Commander himself. Brian's response about the hood not being allowed would seem to suggest those rumors are true.
