Mattel Lists Porn Website On 'Wicked' Line Of Figures

Mattel is taking steps to rectify a typographical error found on their Wicked figures, inspired by the upcoming film set to release on November 22nd. The packaging for the toys, featuring characters such as Elphaba and Fiyero, includes a web address intended to guide consumers to the film's official site, WickedMovie.com. Unfortunately, the packaging mistakenly displays a different link that leads users to a site requiring age verification for those 18 and older. This incorrect link directs to Wicked Pictures, an independent adult film company established in 1993.

Mattel has issued a statement regarding the matter.

“Mattel was made aware of a misprint on the packaging of the Mattel Wicked collection dolls, primarily sold in the U.S., which intended to direct consumers to the official WickedMovie.com landing page,” the company said in a statement to outlets. “We deeply regret this unfortunate error and are taking immediate action to remedy this. Parents are advised that the misprinted, incorrect website is not appropriate for children. Consumers who already have the product are advised to discard the product packaging or obscure the link and may contact Mattel Customer Service for further information.”

Wicked, directed by Jon M. Chu, presents a reinterpretation of The Wizard of Oz, focusing on the narrative through the perspective of the Wicked Witch of the West. The story explores the relationship between Elphaba and Glinda the Good Witch before their fateful paths diverge.

When I first read the topic I thought this was a Toy Farce story. That's such a huge mess up on Mattel!

These are being recalled, but some stores are faster than others.

Glad to hear they have been recalled at least.

I was just at Walmart and there was an endcap with the toys on it that still have the bad link on them.

If I get one, I will ask to management at that store if they are checking what they put on their shelves...?????

Why? You can't expect employees at a Wal-Mart or Target to read every single word on the packaging of every product. That's the manufacturer's job. You wanna question somebody about this, contact Mattel.

Even if the packaging was AI designed, you would think that it would be looked over before being deemed finished.

My bet is it was elaborate joke by some angry employee, it's not like there was some typo like .com instead of .org, there's entire word missing.

someone posted a link to an article saying Mattel was using AI to help design packaging, so i hope AI did this and they fire AI lol

If that is indeed true, then that should be a testament to the fact that we cannot currently be relying on AI to make decisions, and that Humans are still valuable, and if this is fact yes fire Skynet. Hard Pause.
