UPDATE 2: No sooner had we posted this news, when we received an updated email from the folks at The Hub. It turns out Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will NOT be lending his voice to G.I.Joe: Renegades, but instead will be lending his voice to Hasbro's other series "Transformers: Prime." According to them, he will be voicing the character of Cliffjumper. For more information on "Transformers: Prime, head over to TFormers.com

Update 1: The folks at "The Hub" have confirmed for us that Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will in fact be lending his voice to the upcoming G.I.Joe: Renegades animated series as we reported earlier today. Stay-tuned to TNI for more details on what character he will be playing.

This morning, Hasbro held a webcast for its investor update on the Company’s television initiatives namely "The Hub" network. The webcast lasted about 2 hours and featured Hasbro’s President and Chief Executive Officer Brian Goldner and Chief Financial Officer Deborah Thomas as well as presentations by Discovery Communications President and Chief Executive Officer David M. Zaslav, The Hub’s President and CEO Margaret Loesch, and Hasbro Studios’ President Stephen Davis.

For G.I.Joe: Renegades, it was disclosed that both it and "Transformers: Prime" would be airing sometime during their 3pm-6pm "Kids Prime Block". The specific day(s) or time(s) however were not revealed.

Another bit of interesting news from the webcast for G.I.Joe was a mention that Dwayne Johnson will be lending his voice to the show. At one point during the webcast, Hasbro Studios’ President Stephen Davis talks about some of the voice talents they have lined up for their shows. During this segment, Davis states the following, "Lee Majors and The Rock lend their voices to G.I.Joe." Lee Majors' commitment to be a voice actor for Renegades was announced back in August, but this is the first I've heard about The Rock. I assume he is referring to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson once rumored to have a cameo role in the "G.I.Joe: Rise of Cobra" movie. Unfortunately, there was no elaboration by Davis and the casual way he said it makes me wonder if I misheard what he said. After replaying the webcast several time though, it definitely sounds like he says "The Rock."

If you want to listen to the webcast yourself, click here. The part where they talk about the voice actors comes at the time mark of about 58:40, in case you don't want to listen to the entire thing.

I am leaving the question mark on this story till I get some type of confirmation that what I heard in the webcast was indeed correct, and if it is true, it also remains to be seen if The Rock will have a reoccurring role or just some type of guest-starring role.

As for confirmed voice actors for G.I.Joe: Renegades, here is a list of who we know for sure will be starring in the show.

Charlie Adler ("Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen")
Lee Majors ("Six Million Dollar Man")
Clancy Brown ("Shawshank Redemption"),
Jason Marsden ("Batman: The Brave and the Bold")
Johnny Messner ("Tears of the Sun")
Kevin Michael Richardson ("The Batman")

The Hub network launches on 10/10/10 and G.I.Joe: Renegades should debut sometime during that first week of programming.
