Palisades Toys and Top Cow Productions announced and debuted its inaugural line of Witchblade Animated Action Figures and Comic Books at this years Wizard World Chicago convention.

"We came up with the idea of 'animated' style renditions of these characters," Palisades President and CEO Michael Horn commented. "When we showed Top Cow the designs, they immediately set out to produce a comic around it."

"The idea quickly picked up speed," Top Cow President Matt Hawkins said. "It's been a very interesting project in that the merchandise came first. But we are happy to be publishing this title and are talking about future projects as well."

The comic scripting duty was given to 6-time Emmy Award winner Paul Dini, who penned the first comic book.

The product line was introduced to the public officially at the Wizard World show in a special exclusive pack (numbered to 1,000) that included all three figures plus an exclusive alternate cover comic.

The main line has now shipped and can be found on the shelves of comic and specialty shops.

Here are some pictures just for fun.
